Red 1973 240z
I have owned four 240 Z's so far, this one being the 2nd in the sequence. I bought this one back in November 1980. This car has a manufactures plaque date of October, 1972, serial # HLS30-134583. It was assembled with tan interior and the forest green paint job. By the time I purchased it, it had been painted white with a black strip down the center of the hood. Back in 1983 I decided to remove some of the rust around the rear fender, by the time I realized what I was doing I had completely taken the car a part. Since I had it apart I decided to get the car acid dipped by a company know as Redi strip. Then proceeded to put it back together, this time changing the color to Red, rebuilding the engine, updating the suspension with new Koni shocks and 280Z coils. The engine is the stock L24, borded out 60 thou, forge pistons, 3/4 race cam, triple webbers, aluminum fly wheel, 5 speed transmission, stock 3.36 diff.
In 2003, I replaced my suspension with a coil over system and Tokico 5 way Illumina shocks. Upgrade the front brakes to Toyota 4x4 4 piston clippers and 300 ZX rotors with stainless steel brake lines. Removed the drums in the back and put 240sx disk brakes.
In late 2003, I removed my L24 engine to make way for a L28 Turbo engine, but was not happy with the performance. Now I have a 2005 GTO LS2 (364 ci/6.0 l V8) with a T56 six speed tranmission waiting to be installed. The car is currently on a rotissery having the frame rails upgrades.
