"LIZZIE #6" - Copper Spring 2001 -Bought Spring 2001 from Greg who bought it from a local gentleman after the head blew up and Victoria Nissan said it would cost $7 billion to fix. Fall 2001 - Greg and Marian stripped it - sort of and found out the paint job holds it together in the front frame rails and it has major rust cancer Spring 2002 - getting a welder to look at it - wait for more news April 2002 - back from welder with welded floor, frame rails, door skins, some firewall repairs and painted engine bay May 2002 - Pulled F54 1978 engine block intact (less rad) from a 71 240Z (Red) that Greg found and that Mitch needed for parts. Engine compression is great and it's fitted with SUs. We'll clean up the engine and put it in by the summer June 2002 - Gas tank rebuilt and sealed, floors/rails underside rejuvenated, caulked,painted. New Clutch plate and resurfaced flywheel. New rad and rebuilt everything that comes off - dash left in. Bumpers renovated. Seats reupholstered. Drive shaft, diff, U -joints, sway bars reconditioned, bumpers rejuvenated and added overriders. July 2002 - Engine back in and going to painter for touchups in rear, side, rockers,jambs,front lower louver. Hood inside needs paint. Aug 2002- Painted and looks great including rear spoiler . My two boys helped put the seats in, put in the old carpet after washing it, had new carpet for hatch area cut and surged at Fred's upholstery for $80. Repaired headliner. Sep 2002 - repainted steel rims, cleaned and polished stock hubcaps, Mitch installed electronic ignition and wired electric fuel pump, towed to Derrick's (Jon Clausen tuned carbs and replaced clutch master cylinder (thought I put the wrong clutch plate in)), Midas put in a sweet exhaust Sep 2002 - drove it first time and it goes like stink. Feels solid, no rattles, engine ran hot, took out thermostat, still hot, replaced water pump with a spare and she is good to go. Licensed when the Green one sells. 18 Sep 2002 - Licensed and "Lizzie 6" (the sixth zed I've had" is my daily driver! Thanks to the club and Greg many times over for his Philanthropic, Campassionate, Generous and Cynical heart and contribution. Thank-you Mitch for making it work and to Jon Klausen for making it hum!
